The theme is,:“Africa’s Need: Integrity, Trade or Aid?"
Submit any unpublished writings, book reviews, notes, comments, art, and pictures regarding any of the aforementioned or other issues that you believe have impacted Africa and Africans. The solicitation list is not exhaustive. Writers are also encouraged to select topics pertaining to Africa that also correspond with the broader mission of AfriPRO Houston and the Journal, to stimulate contemporary thought on issues that affect Africa and Africans around the globe.
The deadline is:Sunday April 1st.
Interested writers are advised to send in entries as soon as possible. The sooner your article reaches the publisher, the higher the likelihood of your submission getting published.
If any part of the piece has been published previously or is to be published elsewhere, the author must include this information at the time of submission. Submitted articles, art or pictures will not be returned unless the author/owner so requests. Each article should be in Microsoft Word. Final publication is scheduled for either the 2012 AfriPRO Houston Journal Summer Edition at the HABE conference in May or in December at the 6th Annual AfriPRO Houston Holiday Gala in Houston, Texas.
1) Paste the submission in the body of an email. Also, attach same submission as a word document.
Subject Line of e-mail should be: “Journal Submission.” Send to email@example.com.
2) Writings submitted must be double-spaced in 12 point, Times New Roman font. Footnotes must be within the text (i.e. incorporated at the end of each page). Footnote citations should be according to The Chicago Manual of Style or The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. Statements made in the text must be substantiated by an outside authority.
3) Include on the title page full names of authors and other professional affiliations and the complete address and phone number of the author to whom correspondence should be sent. For all materials generated by the Journal itself, the term "African(s)"is used as an adjective and as a noun.
